Hard Rock Cafe

Picture: Hard Rock Hotel Penang, Malaysia, Asia (2010)

Back in 2000 I was visiting family in Houston, Texas. For me it was the first time in the United States. Even the first time intercontinental.

It was on a road trip from Houston to New Orleans where this “addiction” was born. Yes, I’ve seen people wearing the iconic Hard Rock Cafe t-shirts. But hey… never really thought about making this Hard Rock thing an addiction.

Then there it was… just across the street. Right on the corner, a huge building with that logo saying: Hard Rock Cafe.

Curious I was I took my chances, walked across the street and entered the building. This was actually a really cool place. Something like a museum in a bar/restaurant. Before I knew I found myself at the bar facing the guitar used by Kurt Cobain.

From this point, the rest is history. Cliche, I know. Not off the beaten path, I know that too. Guilty pleasure? I don’t know, you tell me but this is one you love or hate.

I love it!!!

Nowadays I am not planning my travels around a Hard Rock Cafe, but whenever there’s one around… you can find me there!
